Krishnasol Jiménez

Krishnasol Jiménez Moreno (Switzerland/Mexico) studied classical guitar and historical pluck instruments (lute, theorbo and Baroque guitar) with Gerardo Arriaga, Oscar Ghiglia and Hopkinson Smith. He performed solo recitals as well as concertos with numerous ensembles in Europe, Canada, the USA, Japan and Mexico. His CDs include two recordings played on the Sabionari guitar (1679), one of the five surviving guitars made by the Italian violin maker Antonio Stradivari:  De Visee: Piéces de Livres pour la Guittarre, with music by Robert de Visée, and Secondo libro di chitarra with music by Angelo M. Barlotti. In 2020 he released Navegar mar afuera, a CD recorded together with María Cristina Kiehr (voice)  and Roberto Koch (colascione) with music by Santiago de Murcia, Son Jarocho and Gasper Sanz. Since 2007, he has been teaching classical guitar at the Basel Music School.  He also gives workshops on historical practice on early plucked instruments at the Lucerne University of Music.
