Alumnus of the San Francisco Conservatory (class of David Tanenbaum) and the Musik-Akademie Basel (Pablo Marquez and Wolfgang Muthspiel), Brazilian guitarist Aliéksey Vianna has appeared in prestigious venues across over thirty countries, including New York’s Carnegie Hall, San Francisco’s Yoshi’s, Stadtcasino Basel, Canberra’s Wesley Music Centre, Cairo’s Opera House, Mexico’s Sala Nezahualcoyotl, and São Paulo’s Auditório Ibirapuera. First prize winner in 13 international competitions, he has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Turku Philharmonic, the Sinfonieorchester Basel, and the Filarmônica de Minas Gerais. In chamber music settings, he has collaborated with musicians like Paul McCandless, Toninho Horta, Nguyen Le, Peter Erskine, Jorge Rossy, Gabriele Mirabassi, Paul Galbraith, Antonio Meneses, and Pierre Boulez. Aliéksey has premiered works by Egberto Gismonti, Ralph Towner, Guillermo Klein, Edino Krieger, and Sérgio Assad. He has released seven albums as a leader on labels such as Guitar Solo Publications (USA), Vanitas (Spain), and TCB (Switzerland).
