Urbaan Reiter was born on the 30th of June 2003 in Slovenj Gradec in Slovenia. He started playing the guitar at the age of seven. Urbaan began his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Graz in 2017 in the highly gifted programme and the preparatory course in the class of prof. Paolo Pegoraro. In 2022 he started his bachelor's degree at KUG with prof. Paolo Pegoraro and prof. Łukasz Kuropaczewski.
In 2019 he was presented as a "rising star" at the Convegno Internazionale di Milano. In 2021 and 2022 he received the Diploma di merito at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in the class of M° Oscar Ghiglia.Up until now Urbaan has participated at 29 guitar festivals and competitions, winning 19 first prizes, two second prizes and four third prizes. His most most important achievements are: 1st prize (premio assoluto) at the 48th International Guitar Competition Michele Pittaluga - Junior Alessandria; 1st prize (age group I) and special prize for best interpretation of a classical work at the 13th Anna Amalia guitar competition for young guitarists in Weimar, Germany; 1st prize at the Forum Gitarre Wien 2018 / 21. internationalen Jugendwettbewerb; 1st prize (age group II) at the 13th Anna Amalia guitar competition for young guitarists in Weimar, Germany and 4th prize at the 1. European Bach guitar award 2022.
