Damiano Pisanello, born in 1990, began his musical education in Geneva with Miguel Charosky. He then studied in the class of Pablo Márquez at the Hochschule für Musik in Basel, where he obtained a master's degree in pedagogy as well as a soloist master’s degree. He enriched his repertoire by studying the romantic guitar at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Peter Croton and completed his apprenticeship at the Segovia Academy in Pordenone with Paolo Pegoraro.

Awarded numerous prizes, Damiano Pisanello has won, amongst others, first prizes at the International Competition of Antony (France, 2019), the International Claxica Competition (Italy, 2017) and the International Competition of Seville (Spain, 2016). He also won third prize at the Tokyo International Competition (Japan, 2019), third prize at the Forum Gitarre Wien (Austria, 2019), third prize at the José Tomás villa de Petrer Competition (Spain, 2019), second prize at the Ciudad de Coria Competition (Spain, 2019), third prize at the International Instrumental Competition in Markneukirchen (Germany, 2019) and second prize at the Budapest International Competition (Hungary, 2018).

Damiano Pisanello has been invited to play at numerous venues throughout Europe. As a soloist, he has performed with the Basel and Zurich chamber orchestras. Passionate about contemporary music, he explores new and daring repertoire as a member of the Hoax guitar quartet. In 2018, he recorded his first CD  Orphenica Lyra, with the label Contrastes Records.
