Davide Picci, born in 1998, began studying the guitar at the age of eight. He attended the Scuola Superiore di Musica Harmonium in Lecce and, under the guidance of Gabriella Lubello, he graduated as a private student at the Conservatorio N. Piccinni in Bari with top marks and honours. In October 2020, at the same conservatoire, he completed the Second Level Biennium in guitar in the class of Nando di Modugno with top marks, praise, and honourable mention. He continued his study at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (Koninklijk Conservatorium), first as a trainee and later pupil of Antigoni Goni, obtaining his master’s degree in music performance cum laude. He is currently doing a postgraduate course at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (KCB).
He attended guitar and chamber music courses held by maestro Oscar Ghiglia at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, obtaining a diploma of merit and a scholarship. He has attended several international masterclasses with renowned masters including Ricardo Gallén, Zoran Dukic, Elena Papandreou, Frederich Zigante, Aniello Desiderio, Umberto Cafagna, Eduardo Isaac, Enea Leone, Marco Tamayo, and Massimo Lonardi. He has participated in various national and international competitions winning 2nd prize overall at the XLIV Gargnano International Guitar Competition; 2nd prize at the IV National Competition Grand Prix- Italia Musica Giovane 2018; 1st price at the La Chitarra - Festival Internazionale dell'Adriatico; 1st prize III at the Concorso Internazionale Musicale Erik Satie; 2nd prize at the VII Moisycos International Competition; 2nd Prize at the 1st Concorso Chitarristico Internazionale Corde d'Autunno di Milano, 3rd Prize at the XLIII Gargnano International Competition, and 1st prize at the Montenegro International Guitar Competition.
He has performed solo and chamber music recitals for major national and international music festivals, most recently making his debut at the Citizens' Garden at the European Parliament in Brussels and at the Zappeion Megaron in Athens.
